The Redwood Institute of the Occult and Paranormal
About
The Redwood Institute, founded by a one Charles Cawley with the hopes of documenting and providing aide to those who are affected by the paranormal or the occult. The Institute provides resources to paranormal entities in exchange for scientific documentation of said entity. The goal is to properly record any and all paranormal occurrences that take place within the sea-side city of Ravenport and to make sure that the occult survives another day.

"We here at the Redwood Institute of the Occult and Paranormal promise to treat all cases with respect and compassion. We understand that the unknown can be frightening to those living it. We also understand how hard it can be for those who are different from societal standards to fit in and be properly cared for. The Institute promises to uphold the sacred creatures and cultures that come across it's path. We promise to properly educate and care for those who need it most, within reason."

Founder
Charles Cawley Ph.D
Former Anthropologist, Current Occultist
An anthropologist gets terribly ill during the excavation of an ancient Egyptian pyramid and when he awakens he dedicates the rest of his life and fortune to discovering the paranormal and the occult. To many, Cawley’s ideas were enough to get him shunned from academic circles and have his previous research thrown out, but it was worth it to him. He traveled far and wide to collect as much information as he possibly could when it came to supernatural occurrences and entities. He complied this information and used the remainder of his wealth to found the Redwood Institute where he’s vowed to take care of those who need it most.Professor Cawley now spends the rest of his days running the Institute from his office, only being seen on special occasions or to teach a class held on the grounds.
Graverobber's Guild
Founded by a one Boris Mason and his band of brothers who took up the side-gig of digging up corpses for medical students and artists to study. The Mason family amassed a comfortable amount of wealth from their endeavors and with it they learned to bribe the local authorities to turn the other cheek. Ravenport became home to them and now the family business is in it’s third generation, only recently have they allied themselves with the Institute.Notable Members:Nigel Mason
The grandson of one of the first members of the guild. He takes his job seriously and sees the good in everyone. He’s very air-headed and is never given much of a chance to prove himself to his family or anyone else for that matter. The only thing he’s ever gotten praise for is how quickly he can scoop dirt out of a hole.
